In 2008, the entire facility was renovated which included rebuilding the greens and conversion from bent grass to the heat tolerant MiniVerde Bermuda grass. All tees and bunkers were reconstructed and the clubhouse received an impressive facelift. The renovation was supervised by Hilton Head architect, Clyde Johnston, a member of the Donald Ross Society and former president of the American Society of Golf Course Architects who relied on the original 1947 Ross drawings to update the front nine. The back nine, which was designed originally by George Cobb was also renovated.
Located 20 minutes south of downtown Charlotte, the 6801 yard layout features 4 sets of tees to offer an enjoyable golf experience for golfers of all skill levels. The property includes dining and banquet facilities, a fully stocked golf shop, driving range and practice areas. |
