In it's 17th year, the Annual Hootie & The Blowfish After The Masters Celebrity Pro-Am Golf Tournament in Myrtle Beach has grown into a hugely successful and widely known fundraising event during the second week of April. That fact is more evident than ever, as this year the event has soldout at its earliest date since moving to Myrtle Beach from Kiawah Island in 2003.
Tournament director Paul Graham says, "It's amazing how this event just continues to grow and grow each year. Interest in this celebrity tournament has never been higher and we want to thank the Myrtle Beach community for supporting it over the years. We are looking forward to a great day on April 11th."
The early sellout and hightened interest in the event comes as no surprise when you take one look at the long list of celebrities who will be attending. Just a few who names include comedian Ron White, Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel, NASCAR drivers Kyle Petty and Michael Waltrip, former professional wrestler Ric Flair, musician Edwin McCain, actor Kevin Sorbo, former NFL quarterback Jim McMahon, and a long list of PGA Tour players including Jim Furyk, John Daly, and Chris DiMarco.
In addition to these big names, ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike in the Morning" will be broadcasting live from the event from 6-10 am. The show is also televised on ESPN2 and anyone with a purchased ticket to the event is welcomed to be a part of the audience.
Proceeds from Monday After The Masters benefit the Hootie & the Blowfish Foundation, which supports the educational needs of children in South Carolina and the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation.
