Things are heating up on Hilton Head Island as the tiny golf Mecca of Sea Pines Hilton Head Golf Resort gears up to host the 2010 Heritage Golf Classic. Annually, the Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament is played at Harbour Town Golf Links and we're sure this year's PGA Tour 2010 will certainly pack its fair share of memorable moments. Past winners of the Heritage Golf Classic have gone on to become golf legends and famed golf course designers in their own rights. They include the legendary Arnold Palmer in 1969, Jack Nicklaus in 1975, Greg Norman in 1988, Payne Stewart two years in a row in 89' and ‘90, and Davis Love III’s three separate years in the 1990s.

This year's Verizon Heritage Golf Tournament begins Thursday, April 15, and ends Sunday, April 18th, 2010. Experts and lovers of the great sport will watch as heavyweights like Matt Kuchar, K.J. Choi battle it out to see who will take home the $5.7 million purse. This year's tournament will certainly come with its own unique challenges. For starters, the Harbour Town Golf Links located at Sea Pines Hilton Head Golf Resort is one of the shortest courses on the 2010 PGA Tour, and its greens are exceptionally small, even to the top scoring pros. When you play at Harbour Town Golf Links you must be precise in all of your hits, not only just putting. In fact, it made it to the top 10 in terms of difficulty in proximity to the hole in seven different yardage ranges from 50 to 250 yards, meaning each and every hole has its fair share of challenges.
