Stephen Poole Wins Hooters Carolina Winter Series

Last Thursday, Stephen Poole claimed a victory and the title at the Hooters Carolina Winter Series event hosted at River Hills Golf and Country Club in Little River South Carolina. A former member of the Clemson Tigers golf team at Clemson University, Poole beat out Tony Parrish closing the event with a two-under par 70. This event, sanctioned by the National Golf Association, was the second event in a row that Parrish finished as the runner-up. Parrish also finished with a two-under par 70, but finished at 1-under 215. With such a close finish, both of these well known players are two up-and-coming golfers to watch.
While Poole was at Clemson, he had one of his best seasons during the fall of 2005 when he had a stroke average of 73.22. He led the team to many events and successful tournament placements and seemed to virtually come out of nowhere during the 2003-04 season when he was named the team's most improved player. Poole's hard work paid off and he continues to participate in numerous events and tournaments every year, placing well each time.
From January 26th through the 28th, the Hooters Carolina Winter Series will be in Brunswick Plantation Golf Course, a coastal NC Golf Course located just near the state line in Calabash North Carolina.
